IPD Sierra Leone - Education

Education

Our education programme has been carried out for many years in Mile 91, Tonkolili District, which is one of the poorest towns in Sierra Leone and was heavily devastated during the civil war. Since 2021, we have been implementing education projects under a Community Based Model to support more children and schools in the community, making sustainable and long-lasting improvements to the quality of education. Throughout the years, we have brought children back to schools by providing them with learning materials and school uniforms. In schools where there is lack of qualified teachers and up-to-standard infrastructure, we are providing training to teachers and rehabilitating school facilities such as building gender-segregated latrines and installing water hand pumps to access clean drinking water.
