Muslim Aid launches charity vending machines in Midlands

Muslim Aid launches charity vending machines in Midlands

This November, shoppers in the West Midlands have a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference while going about their day. From November 15 to November 27, three ‘Light the Worldcharity vending machines will be stationed at the Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull, offering an innovative way to give back to those in need

These machines will feature donation cards from seven impactful charities, including Muslim Aid, enabling contributions ranging from just £3 to £400. Every penny donated will directly benefit the selected cause, ensuring that your generosity reaches those who need it most.

A Collaborative Effort for Change

This initiative is made possible through a remarkable £1 million partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, collaborating with organisations like The Felix Project. Such partnerships are a testament to the power of collective effort in addressing some of the UK’s most pressing challenges

Strategically placed across three prominent locations in the shopping centre, these vending machines make donating effortless. Whether you’re picking up groceries or enjoying a day out, you can take a moment to make a real difference in someone’s life

For Muslim Aid, being part of this initiative is yet another opportunity to Serve Humanity at home in the UK.

Over the years, Muslim Aid’s UK programmes have included food distributions, supporting food banks, UK winter campaigns, and supporting vulnerable people with draft-proofing initiatives. We also responded to the 2015 UK floods, delivered a UK prisoner support programme, and supported newly arrived and existing refugees.

Muslim Aid responded to the tragic Grenfell fire in West London, being one of the first charities on site distributing food, water and clothing. Our response cumulated in the production of a report titled ‘Mind The Gap’ which reviewed and assessed the voluntary sector’s response to the tragedy.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
