Muslim Aid is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti (1938-2023), a former Trustee who dedicated more than three decades of his life to serving the charity. Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti passed away on Saturday night, 29 April 2023 – Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilahi Rajioon.

Muslim Aid is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti (1938-2023), a former Trustee who dedicated more than three decades of his life to serving the charity. Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti passed away on Saturday night, 29 April 2023 – Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilahi Rajioon.

A distinguished community activist and a selfless servant of Islam and humanity, Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti was instrumental in establishing several leading community organisations, including Muslim Aid, Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), and UK Islamic Mission (UKIM).

Muslim Aid's current Chair, Mustafa Faruqi, expressed his condolences and said, "We pray Allah grants Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti mercy and a lasting abode in Paradise."

Acting CEO of Muslim Aid, Khalid Javid, added, "We hope that Syed Mohammad Tanzeem Wasti will receive the rewards of all the good work he carried out while serving Muslim Aid and other organisations. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him an elevated status in Jannatul Firdous. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."
