As we enter our 38th year, the need is greater than ever

As we enter our 38th year, the need is greater than ever

As we mark the 38th anniversary of Muslim Aid, we would like to thank you for being part of this amazing journey with us. By being part of the Muslim Aid family, you have become a beacon of hope for countless lives.

Founded in response to the 1983 Horn of Africa famine in Ethiopia, our organisation's roots lie in a deep-seated mission to alleviate the suffering of those in need. Since then, Muslim Aid has evolved and expanded its reach, operating in over 70 countries we’ve responded to most of the major global emergencies, invested in local communities, educated women and children; empowering them beyond the need to receive aid.

Our journey began with a simple yet powerful slogan – 'Serving Humanity.' Over the years, this has guided us as we honour the ammanah that Allah has given us. Today, as we reflect on our collective achievements, we are reminded that the need is greater than ever before.

In recent months, our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Afghanistan, Morocco, Libya, and other parts of the world have faced unprecedented challenges. The ongoing conflict in Palestine and the multiple natural disasters have left communities devastated. Our mission is more urgent than ever. In just a few days, the impact of an upcoming winter under the climate catastrophe the world is seeing could leave millions freezing to death; they need our support now.

Muslim Aid has been on the frontlines, delivering aid, providing medical assistance, and offering support to those affected by these crises. Your support has enabled us to respond swiftly and effectively, offering a lifeline to those who need it the most.

Your support has been instrumental in our journey, and we look forward to you continuing to be an integral part of the Muslim Aid family.

Message from Khalid Javid, CEO:

As CEO, I believe in in the power of Khidmah (Service), to transform our own lives and the lives of others. Serving Humanity is one of the core principles of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we will endeavour to continue to save lives and build resilience in communities across the globe.

Message from Mustafa Faruqi, Chair of Trustees:

Times of turmoil remind us why the values of Muslim Aid are so important. Our commitment to dignity (karamah), justice (adl), excellence (ihsan), compassion (rahma) and service (khidmah) is a testament to the dedication of our staff, the generosity of our supporters, and the resilience of the communities we serve.

I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has played a role in the success of Muslim Aid. Whether you have been a volunteer, a donor, or a member of our staff, your contributions have been instrumental in helping us reach this significant anniversary.
