Muslim Aid shortlisted for Outstanding Charity of the Year

Muslim Aid has been shortlisted for Outstanding Charity of the Year in this year’s Asian Business Chambers of Commerce (ABCC) Awards.

The ABCC, part of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, represents thousands of individuals and businesses and saw 1300 professionals from across sectors at last year’s awards.

Muslim Aid’s entry focussed on its Ramadan campaign of this year, which raised over £8million for urgent causes all over the world from the Rohingya refugee crisis to victims of the war in Syria, as well as bringing communities together across the UK with a series of street iftars.

The result will be announced at an annual dinner on 7 December.

A spokesperson for Muslim Aid said:

“We’re all proud and excited to be up for this prestigious award.

“Across the world our staff tirelessly bring emergency relief such as food and medicine to people in desperate situations around the world, while also working with communities to empower people and build fairer futures for all.”
