Muslim Aid sends thanks to Allan Dorans MP (SNP) for mentioning our advocacy in the House of Commons while he stood on the right side of history during in favour of a ceasefire in Gaza during Wednesday’s parliamentary debate.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with nearly 30,000 people killed, over 68,000 injured, and 1.8 million people displaced. There are no functional hospitals left in northern Gaza, the education system has collapsed, and civilian infrastructure has failed as a result of this indiscriminate onslaught.
Last night, many MPs spoke with an intense sense of duty and justice towards Palestinians in Gaza as the debate in the House of Commons descended into chaos.
Whilst our Members of Parlaiment continue to drag their feet and squabble on voting in favour of a permanent ceasefire, Palestinians are being killed, starved and deprived of their basic human rights.
Muslim Aid is renewing its calls for a permanent ceasefire and the opening of humanitarian corridors to save lives.
