More than 45,000 people gathered in the Hyde Park on Saturday, 8th of June to rally against world hunger. Muslim Aid extends warm congratulations to all those who participated in the IF campaign and volunteered on the day to make it successful. Being a part of IF, Muslim Aid, along with other charities, participated in the campaign on the day to demand G8 action on the causes of hunger. Hundreds of people signed a petition and wrote messages in support of IF campaign.
On the same day, the Hunger Summit in London secured £2.7 billion to tackle global under-nutrition between now and 2020, with the UK committing an extra £375m of core funding and £280m of matched funding for the period.
