Donor Finance and Reporting Officer

Summary of Role

The Donor Finance and Reporting Officer will support the accurate and timely preparation of donor financial reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation for assigned projects. Working under the direction of the Global Programme Finance Coordinator, the postholder will help maintain restricted funding records, monitor expenditure against budgets, support compliance with donor requirements and work collaboratively with finance, programme and partner colleagues to ensure reporting information is complete, accurate and audit-ready.

About the Role

1. Support the processing and documentation of project payments in line with approved budgets, donor requirements and organisational procedures.
2. Assist with the coding, posting and checking of project transactions to ensure expenditure is recorded against the correct donor, budget line and activity code.
3. Support the preparation and review of project budgets, budget amendments and reforecasts for assigned donor-funded projects.
4. Maintain grant and project finance trackers, ensuring budget, expenditure, income, donor reporting and compliance information is kept up to date.
5. Support monthly reconciliations of project income, expenditure, balances, advances and supporting documentation.
6. Prepare draft donor financial reports using approved donor templates, supporting schedules and expenditure summaries for review by the line manager.

About You

You must currently hold the right to work in Bangladesh. Muslim Aid is not sponsor work permits for this role.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
2. Experience supporting donor financial reporting, grant administration, project finance or finance operations in an NGO or similar environment, including use of donor reporting templates and schedules.
3. Understanding of donor compliance, supporting documentation and basic accounting principles for restricted or grant-funded projects.
4. Experience supporting budgets, reconciliations, expenditure tracking and routine financial reporting.
5. Good analytical and numeracy skills, with the ability to prepare, check and summarise financial information accurately.
6. Good project finance administration skills, including expenditure tracking, reconciliations, partner report checks, donor reporting support and document control.
