Since September 2014, Muslim Aid has been providing a wide range of services to support the education of the children from the host community and internally displaced in Sittwe, Rakhine State. These services include distribution of stationery supplies and school furniture, school refurbishment and organising training sessions for the local teachers in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

In January 2015, Muslim Aid Myanmar in collaboration with the Al Asmakh Charity distributed 662 student kits and 80 teacher kits in 5 schools in Sittwe, Rhakine State.  The student and teacher kits will provide 3,730 children with essential stationery supplies to continue their education amidst the ongoing internal conflicts.

Muslim Aid has also renovated four schools in the villages of Done Pyin, Dar Paing and Done Pyin North and Done Min Gun and installed tube wells for the supply of fresh water 100 meters away from the schools. In addition to school supplies, 8,185 vulnerable children from the Internally Displaced People camps and other villages in Sittwe were also given school uniforms.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
