Somalia

In Somalia, only 42% of primary school age children are in school. Muslim Aid’s education programme has succeeded in enrolling more than 8,000 kids into 36 primary schools and 24 child friendly centres for the 2011/2012 academic year.

The programme, aimed at communities affected by war and drought in Southern
Somalia, has succeeded in enrolling 50% of girls into school. The implementation of this programme works towards the fulfillment of UN Millennium Development Goal 2 - to achieve universal primary education.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
