Hello guys my name is Hassan and I’m starting this fundraiser to support young girls in Bangladesh by providing a safe place to learn and a secure haven for them. With the £15,000 goal I aim to raise (plus additional funds that will come from me), my goal is to build a small mosque in the Sunamganj area of Bangladesh.
The mosque will consist of only female teachers and female students ranging from the ages of 3-21 years to come and take part in Quran studies, daily prayer and fun activities to boost their intellectual development. English will also be taught alongside Islamic studies.
This is close to my heart as I have noticed there’s a huge issue with oppression in Bangladesh effecting women, and being from Bangladesh myself I have seen this first hand. It is holding them back from gaining opportunities to academically succeed.
With the mosque I build, I aim for it to become a place where young women can learn Quran to a good standard , Learn English and also to enjoy their time by interacting with other girls and playing in the playground.
This for us brothers and sisters is a thing we can go out and do everyday knowing our daughters/sisters are safe but for the parents and families of these young girls they know it is far from not.
