Indonesia Earthquake Emergency

A deadly earthquake in Indonesia has claimed the lives of over 200 people and wounded over 1000. 22,000 houses have been damaged and more than 58,000 people are displaced.

Muslim Aid is on the ground and ready to respond. Please donate now and help save lives

On 21 November 2022, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s Cianjur region in West Java.

Emergency services are grappling with a disaster that has so far left:

  • 268 deaths, many of whom are schoolchildren
  • Over 150 missing
  • Over 1,000 injuries
  • Over 22,000 homes severely damaged
  • Roads, schools, mosques, local businesses and more have been demolished

Your support can help those in greatest need.

The casualties continue to rise as experts fear the possibility of aftershocks.

Ridwan Kamil, the Governor of West Java Province said the numbers of injuries and fatalities are likely to increase because there were "a lot of people" still trapped and not yet reported, especially in remote areas.

Muslim Aid has launched an emergency appeal and is on the ground. We are working through our trusted partners to carry out a needs assessment and respond to this devastating disaster.
