Bangladesh floods: Our response so far

Bangladesh floods: Our response so far

Over 5.2 million people have been affected and 20 lives have been taken by the recent flooding in Bangladesh.

Muslim Aid has responded almost immediately and is on the ground in the most affected areas, providing critical support to the communities in need.

Our country office in Bangladesh was one of the first to respond and is providing food packs, NFIs (non-food items), drinking water, and hygiene kits to 4,175 people and 800 families in Cumilla and Feni Districts.

With your support, we managed to provide the flood victims with:

  • Flattened rice
  • Sugar
  • Puffed rice
  • Dates
  • Suji
  • Powdered milk
  • Baby biscuits
  • Candle
  • Lighter
  • Water
  • Water purification tablet
  • 2 pieces of bathing soap
  • Detergent Powder for laundry
  • Bucket with lid
  • Plastic Mug
  • Feminine sanitary towels

We have spent £20,000 on the first phase of this operation to support survivors of the flooding, and we will continue to re-assess the ongoing needs of the people of Bangladesh to support them through every stage of dealing with this disaster.

We ask that you keep our brothers and sisters in Bangladesh, along with all other victims of climate change, in your duas.

Donate now to our emergency appeal.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
