Muslim Aid based in United Kingdom recently donated seventy (70) Aqua Boxes to disaster victims in CRR through the Muslim Aid field office in Bakau.
The Aqua Boxes contains clothing and hygiene equipment for humanitarian and emergency relief.
Presenting the boxes behalf of the organization, the Muslim Aid field officer Ansumana Dibba spoke at length on his organization’s commitment to providing humanitarian services to the disaster victims. He said assisting the needy is one of their objectives, urging the beneficiaries to put the items into intended purposes.
The regional governor, Alh. Ganyi Touray commended the organisation for their effort in complementing government effort in providing aid to the disaster victims. He highlighted the serious damage caused by torrential rain during the rainy season.
The regional disaster coordinator the CRR, Bubacarr Fofana also applauded Muslim Aid for the donated materials, noting that it will improve the lives of the affected families. He further asserted that the donated items will not only complement government effort but will also help to rebuild the confidence of the victims in participating in national development.
