Ayisha is a single child living alone with her mother. She lost her father when she was little. Before becoming part of the Rainbow Family, Ayisha lived a difficult life. She had to wake very early to collect firewood for cooking. She would then rush off to school only to come home and cook, clean and look after her disabled mother who lost her leg from an illness. Although Ayisha’s mother could not work, she tried hard to give her daughter a better life and sought work in a doctor’s clinic. But this was not enough to support Ayisha and her mother.

When they became a part of the Rainbow Family they received invaluable financial, medical and educational support. Previously they lived in a house that was not fit for a disabled person. Once they received the generous assistance, they retiled the floors of the house so that it would be easier for Ayisha’s mother to get around. She said:  “Now our livelihood depends upon the help from Rainbow Family and I spend this money also for Ayisha’s education, clothing and medical purposes”.

Ayisha’s ambition is to become either a maths teacher or a fashion designer. Through the Rainbow Family Programme we can help support children’s dreams to come true.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
