2017/2018 - MA becomes a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)

Over this period, Muslim Aid UK became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) to strengthen the charity's governance. The new CIO structure was officially registered on 29 December 2017 (registered charity number 1176462)  - full details are available on the  Charity Commission Register. A new board for this CIO was appointed on 31st January 2018: Seven people (six Muslims and one Christian, five men and two women) were confirmed as trustees. The original Muslim Aid 1985 entity was dissolved in February 2018, with all assets and liabilities belonging to the original charity transferred over to the newly registered CIO.
