In recent months, the suffering of the mainly Muslim Community of Rakhine State, has escalated with unfathomable violence besieging the community in Myanmar and neighbouring areas.
Those lucky enough to escape with their lives, have faced fresh struggles due to poverty, displacement, injury and illness.
I've never seen anything like it....
....thousands of people stuck in small camps on the outskirts of Sittwe. With absolutely nothing, some had arrived here in the last few weeks, others have been here for the last 5 years.
As we arrived to deliver much needed food assistance, I could feel the gravity of the situation in the very air that I breathed. The faces spoke of unspeakable trauma but also immense courage. Though our response provided much needed support, it is still not enough. We all need to do more.

Muslim Aid is one of a select few humanitarian charities
In the last few months alone over 16,000 people have received aid so far. That is amazing, but it’s just a drop in the ocean, thousands more still need us.
