You voted us as the most loved humanitarian charity in the UK – thank you

As we worked tirelessly to serve humanity during the holy month of Ramadan, we found out just after Eid that you voted Muslim Aid as the most loved humanitarian charity in the UK.

Every year, Savanta holds a Most Loved Charity Brands report which shines a light on charities that are capturing the hearts of UK supporters.

Savanta does this by carrying out an independent survey of 60,000 people and ranking the results in a list of the top 100 charities that made the cut.

By the grace of Allah, Muslim Aid ranked first for all British Muslim charities and was the 12th most loved charity in the UK overall.

The world can only function with love and your love is what has kept us going for over 38 years as the second-oldest British Muslim charity.

Throughout our years of existence, we have a track record of serving those in need at home in the UK and abroad, irrespective of their age, race, religion and gender. This is the way of the Muslim and we strive to excel in our mission each day.

In the UK, we have carried out food distributions, supporting food banks and UK winter campaigns which included supporting vulnerable people with draft-proofing initiatives. We also responded to the UK floods of 2015, along with delivering a UK prisoner support programme and supporting newly-arrived and existing refugees.

We’ve responded to the tragic Grenfell fire in West London, being one of the first charities on site distributing food, water and clothing. Our response cumulated in the production of a report titled ‘Mind The Gap’ which reviewed and assessed the voluntary sector’s response to the tragedy.

We partnered with various other British charities to ensure we leave no area untouched and we even supported the creation of a National Emergencies Trust so charities can collaborate to respond to emergencies here in the UK.

If there is anything Muslim Aid loves, it’s service, which can only be done with your support. We are proud to have achieved this and we would like to express our love and gratitude to you all for recognising our hard work. We love you too.

Muslim Aid would also like to congratulate other charities for making the cut, especially fellow Muslim charities. We may be different organisations, but we strive to serve the Divine as one body worshiping one God. Because of this, we pray for everyone else’s success as we celebrate our own.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
