Make a Difference Through Creativity

Every sketch, every shot, and every moment of inspiration can help transform lives.
Join the challenge today and use your artistry to support people who need it most.

1. Challenge Brief & Rules

This challenge invites you to express your creativity by producing one original piece of art or photography each day for your chosen timeframe (a day, 3 days, a week, or a month). Your work can be drawings, paintings, digital art, portraits, nature photography, collages, sculpture photography, or creative smartphone shots. Every creation must be made on the day you post it.
Share your daily work online to raise awareness and funds for your chosen cause. No old artwork may be reused; everything must be freshly created. The goal is to use your creativity to tell meaningful stories and inspire donations.

2. Printable Poster

“I’m Creating Art for a Cause, supporting where Need is Greatest through the Art & Photography Challenge.”
You can display this in your creative space, studio corner, school desk, or workplace. It helps explain your challenge to others and invites them to support your fundraising.

3. Fundraising Tips

  • Ask people to sponsor each artwork you create (e.g., £2- £5 per piece).
  • Set a target such as “£100 for completing 7 days of art.”
  • Sell prints or digital copies of your favourite pieces to raise extra donations.
  • Share behind-the-scenes progress photos to encourage more support.
  • Offer commissions (optional) with proceeds going to your challenge.

4. Social Media Guide

Use your creativity to build awareness online.

Ideas include:

  • Post your daily artwork or photograph with a fundraising caption.
  • Use time-lapse videos or process shots to show how the piece was made.
  • Share themed days (e.g., “Portrait Tuesday” or “Black & White Photography Day”).
  • Use hashtags like #ArtForACause, #PhotoForACause, or #CreativeForChange.
  • Post a final gallery at the end of your challenge showing your full collection.

5. Parental/Teacher Letter Template

Perfect for under-18 participants.

The letter explains:

  • The purpose of the Art & Photography Challenge
  • That the participant will be creating daily artwork/photography
  • How teachers or parents can support creative time
  • How to safely share artwork online
  • How to help manage a fundraising page or social media posting (if needed)

This ensures adults understand the challenge and can provide proper guidance.

6. Activity Ideas

If you’re stuck on what to create, try:

  • A self-portrait day
  • A nature walks photography series
  • A “draw what you see” challenge
  • Still-life painting or sketching
  • Abstract colour or texture photography
  • Digital illustration from a prompt
  • A “one colour only” themed artwork
  • Black & white photography day
  • Architecture photography
  • Collage from recycled materials

7. Reflection Sheet

After completing the challenge, reflect on:

  • What you learnt about your creativity
  • How it felt to use art to support a cause
  • Which piece was the hardest, and why?
  • What inspired you most during the challenge?
  • What you noticed about telling stories through imagery
  • How supporters responded to your work

This reflection helps you appreciate your creative journey and share a meaningful thank-you message with your donors.
