No Electronics for a Day Challenge

Digital Detox. Real-World Impact.

Can you go 24 hours without any screens? No phone, no laptop, no TV, just real life. Take on the No

Electronics for a Day Challenge to raise vital funds for a cause that matters to you. Whether it's emergency relief, education, clean water, or orphan support, your unplugged day can help power real change.

Why Take the Challenge?

In a world of constant notifications and scrolling, many people don’t get a moment of peace, or the basic resources we often take for granted. By stepping back from your screens, you're stepping up to make a difference. This digital silence helps amplify voices of those in need.

How It Works
  1. Sign Up
Click the "Register now" button to secure your spot in the challenge

  2. Set Up Your Fundraiser
Create an online fundraising page using LaunchGood. We'll guide you step-by-step.

  3. Go Silent!
Pick a day and stay silent for 24 hours. No talking, no whispering, no voice notes – total silence!

  4. Share Your Journey
Use social media to explain why you’re taking part – before and after the challenge. (We’ll give you all the content and templates you need.)

What You Get
  • Digital Challenge Pack (rules, tips, detox guide)
  • Printable signs: “I’m Offline for a Cause”
  • Social media templates & captions
  • Fundraising support from Muslim Aid
  • Prize entries for top fundraisers
1. Challenge Brief & Rules

• This one-day challenge invites you to disconnect from all electronic devices for 24 hours to highlight digital overload and raise funds for a cause of your choice.
• From midnight to midnight, no phones, laptops, TVs, gaming consoles, smartwatches, or any electronic device, even checking texts is off-limits!
• Use this day to reflect, reconnect offline, and support those affected by technology-related issues (e.g. mental health, screen addiction, lack of access to tech, etc.).

2. Printable “I’m Unplugged” Poster

• This poster helps you explain your silence on screens to others.
• Display it on your desk, pin it to your shirt, or hang it on your front door.
• It reads: “I’m Unplugged for a Cause, Supporting (your chosen cause) through the #NoElectronicsChallenge.”
• A great conversation starter for after your digital detox day!

3. Fundraising Tips

• Create a LaunchGood or GoFundMe page. Share your goal (e.g. £100) and explain what you're giving up and why.
• Ask friends/family to sponsor your unplugged day, maybe £1 for every hour offline.
• Offer fun donor perks like writing a handwritten thank-you letter or mailing a doodle you made while offline.
• Sample message: “I’m disconnecting for 24 hours to reconnect with what matters. Support my #NoElectronicsChallenge and donate to [Cause Name]!”

4. Social Media Guide

• Use social media before and after your challenge.
• Before: Post your goal and what cause you’re supporting.
• During: Have a friend or family member update your followers or use a scheduled post to remind people you’re offline for a cause.
• After: Share photos, reflections, and impact updates with a thank-you note to supporters.

5. Parental/Teacher Letter Template

• For under-18s or students: Use a pre-written letter to explain to teachers/guardians that you're offline for a meaningful challenge.
• Ask for permission to be excused from screen-based schoolwork and support the cause by helping share your fundraiser.

6. No-Tech Activity Ideas

• Go for a walk/hike, read a physical book, journal, draw, paint, do crafts, organize your space, bake, write letters, meditate, do puzzles, or spend time with loved ones offline.
• Use this as a reset and reflect on your screen habits.

7. Reflection Sheet

• What was hardest to live without?
• Did you feel more present or anxious?
• What did you learn about your relationship with technology?
• Use this to write a final donor update or create a digital collage of your unplugged day!

Before the Challenge:
  • “I’m going screen-free for charity!” graphics
  • Countdown stories & fundraising link templates
During the Challenge:
  • Auto-post templates for friends to know you’re offline
  • Printable office/classroom signs
After the Challenge:
  • “Thank You” graphics
  • “What I learned from going offline” templates
