2022 – Global Recovery and Resilience

Global Recovery and Resilience

In 2022, Muslim Aid responded to devastating monsoon floods in Pakistan that affected 33 million people, causing widespread loss of homes and livelihoods. Through the Chitral Recovery Project, flood-affected families were given One Room Shelters with toilets, restoring warmth, privacy, and dignity.

In Bangladesh, Muslim Aid partnered with START Fund, ASED, and JASHIS to assist 15,000 flood-affected people through cash grants, hygiene kits, and education boxes, while schools received supplies to help children return to learning.

Across Syria, in partnership with Ihsan Relief and Development, Muslim Aid strengthened the resilience of olive-farming communities in Idlib and Harim, providing tools, fertilisers, and training to vulnerable farmers and creating income opportunities for female-headed households.

Meanwhile, in Sierra Leone, Muslim Aid and Islamic Dawah Teaching Centre (IDTC) delivered a Community-Based Model education programme in Mile 91, Tonkolili District. The project supported 500 vulnerable children with school fees and kits, refurbished three schools, trained 30 teachers, and empowered 100 parents with small business skills — reducing dropouts and improving livelihoods in one of the country’s poorest post-conflict communities.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
