What is G2G?

  • G2G is a gaming tournament organised by MuslimAid to support humanitarian relief and immunity development initiatives around the world. This tournament serves as a way for young people who are interested in gaming to give back to those in need.

  • Game2Give is open to everyone and is an opportunity to help those around the world that need it.

  • The games aren’t just about the victory screen, it’s about showing solidarity, showing commitment and showing up, when it’s needed most.

  • We’re asking you for your support so that we can meet those ambitions. Every small gesture, action or donation brings us a step closer to helping someone in need.

Why join this tournament?

  • This tournament is a real opportunity for you to showcase your skills against people around the country while simultaneously affecting real change globally, impacting people’s lives positively.

  • Often times, young people are left out of the conversation when the topic of charitable donations and/or contributions are discussed. We believe young people should be given the opportunity to help people around the world and this tournament is our way of making it easy for young people to do so.

  • Joining a Game2Give tournament means young people can fulfil their obligation to help people in need while doing what they love.

What you’ll be supporting

All funds raised will go directly to Muslim Aid’s Gaza Orphans & Widows project, which provides:

  • Food parcels and daily meals to families who have lost their breadwinners.

  • Education support for orphans, including school fees, uniforms, and learning materials.

  • Safe shelter and housing support for widows and vulnerable families.

  • Medical aid and essential healthcare for children and mothers.

FAQ

Who can participate in this tournament?

This tournament is open to anyone over the age of 16.

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee to secure your place is £15.

Do I have to fundraise?

All participants will be expected to do fundraising as this is a charity fundraising tournament.

Do I have to raise the target?

Yes, the target has intentionally been set quite low to make it easier for participants to raise the necessary funds.

What happens if I don’t hit the target?

Don’t worry! The MuslimAid team are here to help you every step of the way and will be monitoring your fundraising progress. We’ll reach out to you to help with ideas, provide resources, and give motivation.

Can I join as an individual?

Yes, if you do not join as part of a team already, we will place you in a team. If there aren’t enough participants we will consider alternative options such as changing team sizes and/or team numbers.

Can I join as a pro player?

No, unfortunately, we can’t have any professional players participate as this is an amateur tournament.

What if I can’t attend the games?

If it is likely you will miss all matches, unfortunately you cannot participate in the tournament.

What if I have to miss one of the games?

If you will be absent for one of your matches, it’s ok! We will try to get a sub (if you can’t) for every team and they can take your place for the one match.

What if I have to drop out?

We know some events and circumstances are unforeseeable and we don’t want to pressure anyone into participating in something they can’t. If you feel you need to drop out then of course you may do so, however please be conscious you will be negatively impacting the experience for your team.

What if I’m late to a game?

If you join late to one of your matches, no worries — just communicate with the MuslimAid team on Discord and they can plan for your eventual arrival and seamlessly integrate you into the game.

What if I have internet issues?

Please test your connection before joining the stream and the game. If you know of any issues beforehand try to get them fixed, otherwise we will judge these on a case-by-case basis as we don’t want to negatively impact the experience for your team.

What if I don’t get along with someone in the game?

Unfortunately, toxicity is very common in online gaming. We will be making it extremely clear at the point of registration that anyone who participates in the tournament will have to show good sportsmanship and uphold MuslimAid’s virtues, specifically relating to character and conduct. Any violation of these terms will be addressed as per the strike system outlined in the terms and conditions.

Can I chat privately with my teammates?

The MuslimAid team will be creating channels on Discord to speak with your teammates and discuss strategies and team compositions. However, any discussion/conversation outside of these official channels is not recommended. MuslimAid is neither liable nor responsible for anything discussed and/or shared in these private forums.

What will you do if there’s a cheater?

Cheating is not allowed.

Cheating is a very hot topic in the online gaming community, and because people will be playing from home, we will have to trust players’ integrity. But every game will have a referee (the game host) and an additional referee in both teams’ Discord calls. This way we hope to mitigate the chance of cheating occurring. In extreme cases, game replays can be downloaded and watched with action following pending review.

How will the live stream work?

The live stream will be entirely managed by the MuslimAid team. Players will not need to worry about involving themselves with the live stream or engaging with it. No face cams or audio will be shared live (reactions may be shared with consent).
