Gaza Persistent Yearly Crisis Addressed by Muslim Aid

Forever with Gaza: A year on from the year that Palestine wishes to forget

Today, we mark the one-year anniversary of the horrific war on Gaza. These last 12 months, we’ve seen unspeakable crimes against humanity take place before our eyes in real-time.

Over 41,000 people have been killed and 96,000 injured. Locals even discovered 28 mass graves in the Gaza Strip. These figures reflect not just statistics but lives forever altered, families torn apart, and communities shattered. Not one life in Gaza has been untouched by this tragedy that could have been so easily stopped with the answer to just one call for a ceasefire.

Sadly, not only have calls for a ceasefire been ignored, but the violence has spilled over regionally, especially in Lebanon, where there are now over 1 million displaced.

Muslim Aid has been on the ground in Palestine since 2006 and has Served Humanity in Gaza since the start of the siege, and all subsequent wars. This last year has been testing for all aid organisations operating in Gaza, but our commitment to advocating for those whom we consider fundamental to our Muslim Aid family remains steadfast.

We extended our voice on the behalf of the Palestinians wherever we went, including the UK Parliament, where we organised an event emphasising the perpetuating humanitarian crisis. We were on various TV channels, including prime-time BBC News live from Egypt coordinating aid.

At Muslim Aid, we urge our community at home in the UK and the international community to continue to speak up and extend their support to Palestine. We must amplify the voices of the oppressed and advocate for justice and peace. Together, we can achieve justice and dignity for Palestine.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
